Nho Que River Ha Giang courses through the 1,500m high Mount Nghiem Son. The river is approximately 46km long, 5km of which is at the border of two countries, China and Vietnam. The rest of the river courses through Cao Bang and Ha Giang.
The steep slope from the upper area f the river flows through rugged rocks and creates a waterfall in the center of the valley. Nho Que River courses through Tu San Canyon and Ma Pi Leng Pass in Meo Vac District, and is around 15km from Lung Cu.
The trails from Dong Van to Tu San’s western ravine are long and winding. The narrow path and rugged rocks scares most people who pass through this trail. Despite the scary road, tourists will enjoy the rice terraces along the mountainsides and the view of Nho Que River. The catchment of the river covers an area of 6052 km².
