Itinerary:

Day 1: Vietnam Trekking Tours. Bac ha – Lung Phinh – Ta Chai – Pa Chu Ty II (L,D)

You will be picked up by Lotussia Travel team at Lao Cai Train station and then transferred to Bacha. Your trek start from Lung Phinh market to Ta Chai village, home of Fula minority.

Arrive later afternoon at the H’mong ethnic minority village of Pa Chu Ty II, our destination for overnight. The villages are unused to the presence of foreigners. So we are encouraged to tread gently. The accommodation here is basic.

Overnight in homestay.

Day 2: Vietnam Trekking Tours. Pa Chu Ty II – Then Van – Lung Cai (B,L,D)

After  breakfast  at  local  home  stay,  the  trek  today  leads  through  beautiful  sightseing  on  narrow
footpath  to  the H’mong  village  of Then  Van. Discover  the  daily  life  of  the  local  people.

Continue trekking to Lung Cai – a delightful village located at the moutain side of H’mong area.

Welcome for dinner and overnight in homestay.

Day 3: Vietnam Trekking Tours. Lung Cai – Hoang Nhi Pho – Ban Gia (B,L,D)

Once leaving Lung Cai, following the trekking route to Hoang Nhi Pho through rice paddy and maize
plantations .

Lunch will be prepared and served here.

After lunch, you will continue the trek toward Ban  Gia  village.  Enjoy  your  dinner  in  a  private  local  house  and  spend  the  night  at  Mr  The’s homestay.

Day 4: Vietnam Trekking Tours. Ban Gia – Nan Ma (B,L,D)

Breakfast  at  local home  stay. A  great  days  trek,  undulating  sometimes  steeply  up  and  down  and
through natural  landscapes  to arrive  finally at  the  isolated H’mong village of Nan Ma. The villagers
are friendly and curious and the countryside and village very impressionable. Spend one more night
in the H’mong village of Nan Ma at Mr Sinh’s house.

Day 5: Lan Ma – Lan Lung – Coc pu II (B,L,D)

The trekking is easier today and is punctuated by the exciting crossing of Nung ethnic minority area.
Reaching relative civilization of terraces of paddy fields, house tools as brick, smith  and more.

Have a break at Nan Lung village where the group will have lunch in a local house before continuing the
last destination of Coc Pu II village.

Overnight in a comfortable house in Coc Pu, a village inhabited by the Nung minority.

Day 6: Vietnam Trekking Tours. Coc Pu II – Sin Man – Hoang Su Phi (B,L,D)

After breakfast, there are three kilometers of warking to Coc Pai town in Xin Man district of Ha Giang
province. Your  car will be waiting  to  drive  you  to  Sin Man,  one  of  the  pourest  district which has
border with Lao Cai province and China.

Lunch will be in a local restaurant.

Dinner and overnight in local guest house in Hoang Su Phi.

Day 7: Hoang Su Phi – Tung San (B,L,D)

Breakfast  at  hotel. Transfer  by  car  to  the  start  point  of  your  treeking  today. You will  trek 15  km
through the beautiful scenery and local villages. Lunch will be served at a nice spot. Continue to the
Black  Dao  ethnic  of  Tung  San  for  dinner  and  overnight.  Mr  Tan  Van  Sai  will  have  pleisure  to
welcome you at his house.

Day 8: Vietnam Trekking Tours. Tung san – Dan Khao – Cao Banh (B,L,D)

After having breakfast, your  trek will begin  from Tung San  to Dan Khao  then Cao Banh. Lunch on
route. Dinner and overnight at Mr Phan Van Dau’s homestay (Black Dzao ethnic minority).

Day 9: Cao Banh – Ban Trang – Khuoi Hop – Ha Giang (B, L)

Leaving Cao Banh, you will take the trekking route to Trang village then continue toward Khuoi Hop.
Once  reaching village Len  in Viet Lam you will be  transferred by car  to Ha Giang. Dinner  in  town.

The 8-day Trekking Vietnam Holiday is arranged in the northern Vietnam where you have the opportunity to visit beautiful scenery and to experience the rich ethnic culture. The tour begins with a car transfer from Hanoi via Tuyen Quang to Ha Giang where the first stop is made in Viet Quang. You spend about 3 hours trekking in Viet Quang, Ha Giang province before continue your adventure holidays to Cao Banh where you have another challenging hike. Keep trekking through Hoang Su Phi and Xin Man where there are the most beautiful terraced rice fields and wild nature. Arriving in Bac Ha, there you may want to spend some time to visit the Bac Ha Sunday market, is open only on Sunday morning before driving to Sapa. Itinerary:

Day 1: Trekking Vietnam Holiday. Ha noi – Tuyen Quang – Viet Quang (L,D)

8:00: You will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi. Enjoy a fulll day transfer from Hanoi to Viet Quang town, Ha Giang Province. We may make several breaks along the way for resting and sightseeing. Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant in Tuyen Quang. We will arrive Viet Quang in mid afternoon. The rest hours is set free  to relax and have preparation for 3 days trekking afterwards.

Day 2: Viet Quang – Vi Xuyen – Cao Banh (B,L,D)

We will leave Viet Quang at 08.00 for a 1.5 hour drive to Vi Xuyen Town. Upon our arrival in the town, we will turn left taking a narrow paved road running to Trung Son. This portion of the road trip offers stunning landscapes.

The trek begins from here(1,110ft) for about 6 hours along a tream which running between 2 high mountain ranges, through Thuong Son, passing small villages of the Tay peopoles scaterring on the low land of the narrow valley and Zao peoples on the higher hilly land gradually uphill to Cao Banh where maily inhabated by the Zao ao dai(Zao with long dress) ethnic peoples. Settle down at a local homes, freshen up and relax

Day 3: Trekking Vietnam Holiday. Cao Banh – Dan Khao – Hop Nhat Village (B,L,D)

Breakfast and leave Cao Banh Village at 08.30. The trail winds its way uphill for about 4 hours via several small villages of the Zao peoples to the top of the pass(Heaven Gate) at the hight of 3975ft. As the trails gets higher, the stunning view of the region opens wider and the population gets thinner. The clients will enjoy magnificent landscapes of the terraced fields below the trails and thick forest covering the higher land and mountains.

Long lunch break at the Heaven Gate and from here great view of the two side of the Tay Con Linh opens as wide as one’s sight.

The way down is about 6 km and little bit steep and narrow for the first 2 km and then getting easier as the trails comes down to the lowerland, passing a small hamlet of the Co Lao ethnic peoples before arriving to Hop Nhat Village of Tung San Commune.
Walking around this village of the Zao peoples which sits on a earthen hill and over looking down a stunning valley.

Day 4: Hop Nhat – Tung San – Hoang Su Phi – Xin Man – Bac Ha (B,L,D)

Leaving Hop Nhat Village at 08.30 and follow a narrow trails downhill for about 4 hours through Hop Nhat village to the center of Tung San Commune and then continue to Thanh Giay Village, home to the Nung, Tay, Han and Hoa ethnic peoples. Walking around the village and paying visiting to local homes  before picked up at Tan Tien junction and transfer to Hoang Su Phi Town Let for Lunch.

Transfer by road 78 km to Bac Ha via Xin Man Town Let. Clients will enjoy many photo stops and paying quick visit to some small hamlets of the Flower H’mong along the way and arrive in Bac Ha at about 17.00.

Day 5: Trekking Vietnam Holiday. Bac Ha – Sapa – Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Sapa (B,L)

Breakfast and leaving Bac Ha along road 155 downhill to Lao Cai(72 km) with stops along the way to visit a small hamlet of the Phu La ethnic peoples(13km from Bac Ha), taking a short walk uphill to see tea plantation near Phong Hai( 39 km before Lao Cai). Enjoy a coffee break at Lao Cai City before drving uphill for an hour to Sapa(38 km).

Arriving in Sapa at noon, lunch break in a restaurant and then spend half an hour walking around this charming town. Leaving Sapa town at 13.30 and drive southwards for 12 km to Ta Van Vilage. Start trekking from Ta Van to Giang Ta Chai Village of the Red Zao(1,5 hours) through terraced rice paddies and bamboo forest. After visiting local homes at Giang Ta Chai, the group will cross Muong Hoa River and then trekking uphill to Su Pan village of the H’mong and down to the motor way.

Pick up and transfer back to Sapa town for overnight.

Day 6: Trekking Vietnam Holiday. Sapa – Binh Lu – Lai Chau (B,L,D)

Breakfast and check out Topas Ecolodge at 08.00. Picked up and transfer 32 km via to Sapa and Tram Ton Pass. Enjoy a short break at the Silver Waterfall for a miring this nature wonder and then 20 minutes at Tram Ton Pass(Heaven Gate) for stunning scenery of Fasipan Mount and Sapa Valley as well as great view of the west side of Hoang Lien range.

Continue driving 27 km downhill to Chu Va village of the Red H’mong. Walk for an hour to visit this village which beautifully sits near the food of the pass by the side of a river before continue 8 km to Binh Lu Town let, lunch break here.

After lunch, take a short drive 2 km through the lush Binh Lu Valley to Pa Pe village of the Lu ethnic peoples who where beautiful traditional costumes and still dye their teeth black. Walk for half an hour to visit this village before continue the road trip to Lai Chau Town(Old Tam Duong). Arriving in Tam Duong at about 16.00, check in hotel. The rest of the afternoon is for exploring villages of the tribal peoples in the country side including the Black Zao and Zao Tien(Zao with coins) and enjoy a peaceful walk to see tea farm in the suburb of Lai Chau.

Day 7: Trekking Vietnam Holiday. Lai Chau – Sin Ho – Muong Lay – Dien Bien Phu (B,L)

Leaving Lai Chau at 08.00 for a drive through the beautiful region along the back road for nearly 3 hours to Muong Lay(Old Lai Chau Town) via Sin Ho district. The road trip offers stunning landscapes of large valley, fabulous forest and the group will take some short stops along the way to pay visit to villages of the Red H’mong and Thai peoples before arriving to Muong Lay town let. Spend half an hour walking around Muong Lay valley before having lunch.

Arriving in Dien Bien Phu at about 15.00 and spend the rest hours in the afternoon for historical sightseeing around Dien Bien Phu former battle fields famous for the last campaign of the Viet Minh( Vietnamese communist forces) against the French colonial army. The sights for visiting include the A1 hill, Dien Bien Phu Museum, the head quarter of the French army and the beautiful Muong Thanh valley.

Check in hotel and at 17.30 and free to explore Dien Bien Phu city in the evening.

Day 8: Dien Bien Phu – Tay Trang. Cross the border to Laos (B)

Break first, check out hotel and transfer 42 km to Tay Trang border gate for the next portion of the trip for Laos. Trip ends.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Trekking Tour Vietnam. Hanoi – Quang Binh (L,D)

08.00: You will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi and transferred to Quang Binh town, Ha Giang province.

We will make several stops en route for visiting local villages of the Tay ethnic group.

We arrive in Quang Binh town at about 5.00 pm. Check into a local guesthouse for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Trekking Tour Vietnam. Quang Binh – Tan Nam (B,L,D)

We will check out at 08.30 am. Enjoy 15 minute drive to the starting point of the trekking trail. We take an easy walk through valley and terraced rice paddies. After about two hours hike, we arrive a village of Pa Then ethnic peoples. Visit the village and then have lunch.

In the afternoon, we continue trekking up and downhill, through plantation, rice paddies, especially the palm forest of hilly land of the Tan Nam commune. We will hike through some hamlets of the Black Dzao and larger villages of the hospitable Nung ethnic peoples.

We arrive in the center of Tan Nam at about 5.00 pm. We may have a short walk around this beautiful village before checking into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 3:Trekking Tour Vietnam Tan Nam – Phieng Lang (B,L,D)

After breakfast at home-stay, we will depart at 8:30. The trek is easy as we go on large village path running from village to villages of the Zao Ao Dai (Dzao with long dress), Tay and Nung ethnic peoples. All these village are beautifully set along the Nam Ly River. It will be possible for us to visit many local houses along the way. All the local villagers are friendly and open-minded.

In the afternoon, we will trek uphill to Phieng Lang is mainly inhabited by the Dzao Ao Dai peoples and several Flower H’mong. Both ethnic groups traditionally and practically build their homes on hill tops and cultivate the surrounding land to create perfect dwelling.

We arrive in Phieng Lang in mid afternoon. We may have a short walk to explore the surrounding nature before checking into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Phieng Lang – Pa Duc – Quant Thuong – Nam Choong (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to our hosts at about 08.30 am. Enjoy another day walking along the beautiful Nam Ly valley. We will hike on a good trail which winds up and down on high hill sides.

We trek uphill for the whole morning until we arrive Quang Thuong. Very different from the Nung and Tay, who live in large villages at low land, the H’mong and the Zao Ao Dai occupy the higher land and built their houses scattering on hill-tops. This trekking portion offers one of the most beautiful sceneries in the far north.

We will have lunch before we descend a narrow trail passing through tea farms and steep terraced paddies. After about 2 hours, we arrive the Nam Chong village of the Dzao Ao Dai. Explore the village and settle down in a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Nam Chong – Quang Nguyen – Coc Cang – Coc Dong (B,L,D)

We star the day by trekking on a narrow trail along the Nam Ly River. After about an hour, we arrive in the center of Quang Nguyen Commune. Upon our arrival in the village, we will take a tough trail going uphill. We hike through villages of the Nung and Red Zao and Zao Ao Dai.

Lunch will be provided in a local village en route.

After lunch, we will be ready for the most challenging part of the tour – We will trek over the Nhin Co San mountain. The trail become narrow and very tough as we hike through the thick rain forest and bamboo forest. After about three hours, we will arrive in Coc Cang village.

We continue our hike along the same trail for 1,5 hours. We walk by some hamlets of the White H’mong to Coc Dong Village of the Nung peoples.

Check into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Trekking Tour Vietnam. Coc Dong – Coc Re – Coc Pai (B,L,D)

A beautiful day of itinerary by following the local’s way that lines at mid-mountain, along multiform
paddies  field and offer an agreeable  landscape.

Meeting  in  the way with  ”H’Mong  flower” girl who are very beautiful  in charming dress with  the  red color dominating  then, some soft up and down trail before descending continuously to Coc Re.

The long descend is under the shadow of a newly planted  forest with  interesting  sound of  the  fauna and  flora.

Lunch  in  local  restaurant  in Coc Re market.

The  trek  continues  some  more  hours  towards  Coc  Pai,  a  small  mountainous  town.

Overnight in guesthouse.

Day 7: Trekking Tour Vietnam. Coc Pai – Bac Ha (B,L,D)

A  slight walk around Coc Pai before  transferring  to Bac Ha by 4 x 4 vehicle. Arrival at Bac Ha by
noon. Bac Ha is situated in the highlands and is mostly populated by the beautifully dressed Flower.

After noon is highlighted with 2 hours walk to explore the famus Ban Pho Valley which is home to the Flower H’mong and Tay ethnic. Paying visiting to local homes and enjoy watching peoples making the well-known spirit from corn as well as a traditional dance with the Khen – a traditional musical instrument composed by 6 bamboo pipes.

Day 8: Trekking Tour Vietnam. Bac Ha – Coc Ly – Lao Cai – Train to Hanoi (B,L)

Continuation of  the  trip  to Trung Do, a beautiful village  inhabited by Tay people with  its green rice  terraces. Upon arrival at chay River’s bank, embarkation on sampan  for a upstream cruise  to Coc Ly village where visitors enjoy the weekly multi-ethnic market held on every Tuesdays evening, an  ideal  place  to meet  local  people.  Ethnic  groups  from  every  part  of  the  region  come  here  to exchange  their agricultural and handicraft products.

Transfer  to Lao Cai, visit  to  the border gate between  Vietnam  and  China.

In  the  evening  return  Hanoi  by  train.  Overnight  on  train  in  soft sleeper wagon.

8:30: You will be met up at your hotel in Hanoi by Lotussia Travel team and transferred to Thong Nguyen (Ha Giang Province).

After breakfast, we will leave the ecolodge following a small trail for about 2 km leading to the center of Thong Nguyen Commune.

We will trek uphill along a dirt trail for about 2 hours and then downhill for 1,5 hour passing by some small villages of the Nung ethnic.

Lunch will be provided en route.

After lunch, we continue trekking uphill along a magnificent valley, sneaking on mountain sides which offers great scenery of the villages of the Nung and Zao scattering around the valley.

We will arrive at the village around late afternoon.

Dinner and overnight in a local house (Homestay).

Day 3: Vietnam Trekking Holidays. Nam Son – Nam Li (B,L,D).

After breakfast, we will say good bye to the Nung local host and continue trekking along a single dirt trail for 3 hours uphill passing two villages of the Dao peoples. This portion offers marvelous landscapes for its beauty of nature.

Lunch will be provided on the foot of a mountain.

The trail gets narrower in the afternoon, winding its way up and down hill for 4 hours through local hill tribe villages (Dao & Nung), and then bamboo and thick rain forest as well as tea plan tation.

We will arrive in Nam Li around late afternoon. Check-in homestay for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Nam Li – Che La (B,L,D).

After breakfast, we will leave Nam Li at 08.30.

The trek today is a real challenge! The narrow dirt trail sneaks its way mostly uphill (from 370 m to 622 m high) through an untouched region, via several small villages of the Nung and Red Zao who will be very excited at meeting the first tourists to come to their villages.

Then the trek goes through thick forest for nearly 2 hours to the top of the mountain range.

After lunch break, the trail gets wider as we descend to another village is also an authentic one, inhabited by the H’mong people who used to grow poppy for opium production until recently. Spend an hour to explore this village before continue trekking downhill to the center of the commune.

We will arrive in Che La about 5,30 pm.

Check-in local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Vietnam Trekking Holidays. Che La – Nam Chien (B,L,D).

After breakfast, we will leave Che La at 08.30.

It is an easy day today! The dirt path is large and gradually goes downhill for 4 hours, passing through tea plantation, terraced rice paddies and villages of the Nung, H’mong and Zao.

Lunch will be provided en route.

Once reaching the bottom of the valley, the group will injoy an hour by the clear water of a stream before trekking uphill for 2 km to  the homestay where we will spend the night.

Dinner and overnight in local village.

Day 6: Vietnam Trekking Holidays Nam Chien – Song Ngam – Ban Gia – Bac Ha (B,L,D).

After breakfast, we leave Nam Chien at 08.30.

The first hour is an easy walk along a large path to Nam Dan. Here the group will spend ½ hour to admire a wonder: The rock field including some dozen rocks of different sizes and shapes bearing messages of the ancient men.

Lunch en route.

Then, we will follow a narrow trail for 2 hours uphill through the thick rain forest and then 3 hours downhill until we reach a H’mong in mid afternoon.

You will be picked up by Lotussia vehicle and transferred to Bac Ha.

Day 7: Visit a regional tribal market – Overnight train to Ha Noi (B,L).

Itinerary:

Day 1: Vietnam Adventure Tours Trekking. Arrive Laocai early this morning. Travel to Bac Ha (B,L,D).

Arrive at Lao Cai Railway station early this morning. You will be greeted by Lotussia Travel local team and transferred to a local restaurant for early breakfast.

After a short rest, travel to Bac Ha. Visit Bac Ha market, the biggest market in the area. Every Sunday, different ethnic groups come to the market  to sell their homemade products or buy something for the family. They are Hmong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities can’t be met in any other areas.

Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant in town.

In the afternoon, enjoy a short easy walk to a H’mong village near Bac Ha town.

Dinner and overnight in Bac Ha.

Day 2: Bac Ha – Ta Cu Ty village (B,L,D).

Breakfast will be served in the village. Leaving the village at about 8:0, we will be transferred to the starting point of trekking trail in Lung Phin with several photo stops along the way.

Upon our arrival in Ta Chai Village of the Phu La ethnic, we start trekking along a narrow valley through Quan Hoa Hamlet. The first portion of the hike last for about three hours.

Lunch will be provided on the spot.

After lunch, we continue trekking for about two hours until we arrive the Lu Suoi Tung village of the Flower H’mong. We will have a short walk visiting this isolated village. Stop by a local school and several H’mong family for a discovery of the local life.

We will be picked up again by our vehicle at Lu Suoi Tung village and transferred to home stay near the center of Ta Cu Ty Commune. This portion of the road offers spectacular landscapes of the Ban Gia Valley and clients will enjoy many viewing stops before arriving to home stay.

Day 3: Vietnam Adventure Tours Trekking. Ta Cu Ty – Song Ngam – Nam Dan – Nam Chien (B,L,D)

Breakfast will be provided in the village. We leave the village at 08.30am continueing our trekking adventure.

We will trek for the whole morning on a large path. The three-hour trek will offer great views of the Ban Gia valley. A stop will be made en route for a visit of a Nung village.

We will arrive Song Lam around noon. Lunch will be provided near a village-school.

After lunch, we continue trekking for two hours and a half. This part is challenging. We trek through the thick bamboo and rain forest. After about two hours, we will arrive Nam Dan Commune is famous with the rock fields bearing cared massage from ancient peoples.

Then we will have one more hour easy walk before we arrive Nam Chien village of the Nung.

Check into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Nam Dan – Nam Choong village (B,L,D).

Transfer along a paved road to the southern side of the mountain. Enjoy 3 hours easy trekking through Tay and Dzao villages along the narrow valley of the Nam Ty River.

Lunch will be provided in a local house (picnic).

After lunch, continue our trek crossing the river to the southern bank, then uphill, downhill to a Dzao village, set on the bank of Nam Ty river, endowed with a mineral hot spring.

Dinner and overnight in a house on stilt.

Day 5: Nam Choong village – Cao Son – Trung Son – Tan Minh (B,L,D)

Today is the most interesting day of the whole trip. Because we will experience the superb natural scenery which changes after every quarter of trekking. Therefore this is also the greatest challenge so far.

Leaving the village at about 08.30am, we will trek uphill the Chieu Lung Thi mountain range. We hike from the Nam Li valley to Cao Son village of the H’mong and Zao. We may have a short visit of this village before we continue walking through the thick forest to Trung Son village of the Nung peoples and then onto Tan Minh village of the Zao peoples.

We check into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Vietnam Adventure Tours Trekking. Tan Minh – Ho Thau – Ho Xan – Nam Son – Pan hou village (B,L)

We will have an easy trek today. The trail gets mostly downhill which offers marvelous view of the Nam Dich valley.

We will trek from Tan Minh village to the center of Ho Thau commune and then to Xin Chai village of the Zao and Nung peoples.

Picnic lunch will be provided by the Nam Dich river. If weather permit it will be possible for us to swim in the clear water of the river.

Then we cross the river taking a leisure walk to the southern bank of the river. We hike through the stunning valley of the Doan Ket village.

After about three hour trek, we will be picked up by our vehicle and transferred to Panhou eco-site (Pan Hou village in Thong Nguyen.

Check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Panhou – Hanoi (B,L).

Full day transfer from Pan Hou lodge to Hanoi. The drive takes about 7 hours. We arrive Hanoi about late afternoon. End of Lotussia Travel services.

Today is the most interesting day of the whole trip because the natural scenery is wonderful and it changes every half hour.

We trek for almost the whole day. We hike uphill the Chieu Lung Thi mountain range. We trek from Nam Li Valley via the center of Quang Nguyen Commune, to Cao Son Village of the H’mong and Zao.

We continue trekking through the thick forest to Trung Son Village of the Nung peoples and then onto Tan Minh village of the Zao peoples. We hike descending for 20 minutes to the center of Ho Thau Commune where we will be picked up by our vehicle and transferred to the Panhou eco lodge.

Check in the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Trekking Tour Vietnam. Panhou – Hanoi (B,L)

20:00: You will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi and transferred to Hanoi railway station for night train up to Laocai. Train ??? Departure at ??? (to be advised). Overnight on the train.

Day 2: Vietnam Mountain Biking. Arrive Lao Cai. Visit Bac Ha Sunday market. Cycle to Ban Pho village

Arrive Laocai early this morning. You will be greeted by Lotussia Travel local team and transferred to a local restaurant for breakfast.

8:00: We will leave Lao Cai for a road transfer to the Bac Ha Sunday market. The Bac Ha market on Sunday takes place right in this charming town. Enjoy about 2 hours joining the local ethnic peoples such as H’mong, Zao, Tay, Phu La…experiencing the festive atmosphere and lively activities as well as understanding of the regional spiritual life.

Check in hotel and have lunch.

In the afternoon, warming up for aprox 2 hours by cycling 12 km up and downhill around the Ban Pho Valley.

Overnight in Bac Ha.

Day 3: Bike Bac Ha – Can Cau – Ta Cu Ty

The trail today runs mostly through populated valleys which featured of terraced rice paddies and cornfields on steep hills sides as well as chances to meet local tribal peoples such as Flower H’mong, Zao and Tay.

After breakfast, we start biking from hotel following the motor way for about 3 km to the center of Lau Thi Ngai Commune. We will cross the stream by suspension bridge and then enjoy an easy ride on a single dirt track along a stunning valley for 4 km before challenging 5 km up steep hill trail to Lung Phin village. We will visit this village and follow the motor way again for 2,5 km and then to another single dirt track, passing through several small hamlets of the H’mong peoples to Can Cau market place.

We will arrive at Can Cau at about 4.00 pm. Stop biking and then transfer by road for 45 minutes to Ta Cu Ty. Check into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Bike Ta Cu Ty village – Ban Ngo – Nam Dan

After breakfast, we will cycle along a single track which form a half circle around the Ta Cu Ty mountain range and is a combination of short lose rocky part and dirt trails with some stream crosses. We will bike through several villages and hamlets of the Nung, H’mong and Zao ethnic peoples.

Lunch break at Dan Khao, a newly settled-down village.
After lunch, we continue cycling along the same track for 9 km on high elevation of Ta Cu Ty range to home stay at Nam Chien Village where a short stop will be made for us to visit the interesting rock fields with messages of the ancient peoples carved on many big rocks at Nam Dan Village.

Arrival at home stay at about 3.00 pm. Dinner and overnight in the village.

Day 5: Vietnam Mountain Biking. Continue cycling Nam Dan – Nam Nhung – Khau Rom – Nam Choong village

After breakfast, we leave home stay in Nam Chien at about 08.30 am.

We continue our bicycle tour following the good motor way. We bike through thick rain forest from home-stay over the Gio Pass to the southern side of the. We then turn left to a single dirt track and cycle mostly downhill through tea farms, terraced rice paddies, bamboo forest, passing some isolated hamlets of the Zao and H’mong ethnic of Nam Nhung and Khau Rom Villages.

We continue our bike through a suspension bridge and cross the Nam Ly River to the sounthern bank.  We take the single dirt track and bike uphill through Phieng Lang and Quang Thuong Villages of the Red Zao and then to Nam Choong Village.

Arrive at the Nam Choong local tourist site near the hot mineral spring at about 5.00 pm. Dinner and overnight in the village.

Day 6: Cycling Nam Choong – Cao Son – Ho Thau Commune – Ho Xan Village.

We begin the day by biking along a narrow single track from Nam Choong to the center of Quang Nguyen Commune. We then follow a single dirt track biking gradually uphill along the Nam Ly River and through the Trung Son Village.

Challenging down and up very steep trail to cross the upstream of Nam Ly River to the other bank. Bikes may have to be carried for about 30 m.

We then follow a larger single track and bike uphill to Chien Thang Village and then cycle gradually downhill to the center of Ho Thau Commune. Bicycle trip will be uphill for 4 km to Ho Xan Village of the Red Zao and Nung ethnic.

We arrive to homestay at Ho Xan Village at about 4.30 pm. Dinner and overnight in the village.

Day 7: Vietnam Mountain Biking. Biking Ho Xan – Nam Son – Nam Khoa – Panhou ecolodge

Cycle along a single dirt track almost downhill for 12 km from Ho Xan Village Via Sin Chai Village to Nam Son Bridge. Take a short rest by the river. Then we cycle the large road up steep hill to the Nam Khoa Heaven Gate. This part offers stunning scenery of thick rain forest with narrow terraced rice paddies on steep hill sides.

Lunch will be provided en route.

We bike downhill along another large single dirt track to the Junction of the Nam Khoa River. Scenery features with small villages of the Zao and the Nung surrounded by tea farms, plantation and terraced rice paddies stretching along 2 sides of the valley.

We turn left and then follow a very narrow single dirt track winding its way up and down on steep hills sides to Thong Nguyen Commune. Follow the narrow motor way to the Panhou eco lodge where we will spend the night.

Day 8: Panhou Thong Nguyen eco lodge – Ha Noi

Breakfast and check out the Panhou at 08.00. Enjoy a full day drive to  Hanoi. Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant along the way. Arrive in Ha Noi at about 06.00 pm. Trip ends.

We arrive Ban Cuom hamlet around noon. This is a Tay village and still untouched from mass travel. We will have lunch in a local house.

After lunch, we have a short walk around before we continue cycling to Ban Cuom 2 village, located  along the Mien river. A visit of this village will be made before the cycle back to Ha Giang town.

Leaving Ta Cu Ty village for the whole morning medium trek along a large path with great view over a Nung village.

Lunch will be provided in a local hill tribe village (picnic).

After lunch, we will follow a narrow footpath trekking for about 3 hours (hard trek) up and downhill through the thick forest. Visit the rock-field with scripts carved by ancient peoples. Arrive the village around late afternoon.

Day 4: Nam Dan – Nam Choong village

Transfer along a paved road to the southern side of the mountain. Enjoy 3 hours easy trekking through Tay and Dzao villages along the narrow valley of the Nam Ty River.

Lunch will be provided in a local house (picnic).

After lunch, continue our trek crossing the river to the southern bank, then uphill, downhill to a Dzao village, set on the bank of Nam Ty river, endowed with a mineral hot spring.

Day 5: North Vietnam Trekking. Nam Choong village – Quang Binh – Hanoi

Travel the dirt road to Na Chi. Then have quite a full day drive to Hanoi. Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant en route.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi – Quang Binh (L,D)

08.00: You will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi and transferred to Quang Binh town, Ha Giang province.

We will make several stops en route for visiting local villages of the Tay ethnic group.

We arrive in Quang Binh town at about 5.00 pm. Check into a local guesthouse for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Quang Binh – Tan Nam (B,L,D)

We will check out at 08.30 am. Enjoy 15 minute drive to the starting point of the trekking trail. We take an easy walk through valley and terraced rice paddies. After about two hours hike, we arrive a village of Pa Then ethnic peoples. Visit the village and then have lunch.

In the afternoon, we continue trekking up and downhill, through plantation, rice paddies, especially the palm forest of hilly land of the Tan Nam commune. We will hike through some hamlets of the Black Dzao and larger villages of the hospitable Nung ethnic peoples.

We arrive in the center of Tan Nam at about 5.00 pm. We may have a short walk around this beautiful village before checking into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tan Nam – Phieng Lang (B,L,D)

After breakfast at home-stay, we will depart at 8:30. The trek is easy as we go on large village path running from village to villages of the Zao Ao Dai (Dzao with long dress), Tay and Nung ethnic peoples. All these village are beautifully set along the Nam Ly River. It will be possible for us to visit many local houses along the way. All the local villagers are friendly and open-minded.

In the afternoon, we will trek uphill to Phieng Lang is mainly inhabited by the Dzao Ao Dai peoples and several Flower H’mong. Both ethnic groups traditionally and practically build their homes on hill tops and cultivate the surrounding land to create perfect dwelling.

We arrive in Phieng Lang in mid afternoon. We may have a short walk to explore the surrounding nature before checking into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Phieng Lang – Pa Duc – Quant Thuong – Nam Choong (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to our hosts at about 08.30 am. Enjoy another day walking along the beautiful Nam Ly valley. We will hike on a good trail which winds up and down on high hill sides.

We trek uphill for the whole morning until we arrive Quang Thuong. Very different from the Nung and Tay, who live in large villages at low land, the H’mong and the Zao Ao Dai occupy the higher land and built their houses scattering on hill-tops. This trekking portion offers one of the most beautiful sceneries in the far north.

We will have lunch before we descend a narrow trail passing through tea farms and steep terraced paddies. After about 2 hours, we arrive the Nam Chong village of the Dzao Ao Dai. Explore the village and settle down in a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Nam Chong – Quang Nguyen – Coc Cang – Coc Dong (B,L,D)

We star the day by trekking on a narrow trail along the Nam Ly River. After about an hour, we arrive in the center of Quang Nguyen Commune. Upon our arrival in the village, we will take a tough trail going uphill. We hike through villages of the Nung and Red Zao and Zao Ao Dai.

Lunch will be provided in a local village en route.

After lunch, we will be ready for the most challenging part of the tour – We will trek over the Nhin Co San mountain. The trail become narrow and very tough as we hike through the thick rain forest and bamboo forest. After about three hours, we will arrive in Coc Cang village.

We continue our hike along the same trail for 1,5 hours. We walk by some hamlets of the White H’mong to Coc Dong Village of the Nung peoples.

Check into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Coc Dong – Coc Re – Coc Pai (B,L,D)

A beautiful day of itinerary by following the local’s way that lines at mid-mountain, along multiform
paddies  field and offer an agreeable  landscape.

Meeting  in  the way with  ”H’Mong  flower” girl who are very beautiful  in charming dress with  the  red color dominating  then, some soft up and down trail before descending continuously to Coc Re.

The long descend is under the shadow of a newly planted  forest with  interesting  sound of  the  fauna and  flora.

Lunch  in  local  restaurant  in Coc Re market.

The  trek  continues  some  more  hours  towards  Coc  Pai,  a  small  mountainous  town.

Overnight in guesthouse.

Day 7: Coc Pai – Bac Ha (B,L,D)

A  slight walk around Coc Pai before  transferring  to Bac Ha by 4 x 4 vehicle. Arrival at Bac Ha by
noon. Bac Ha is situated in the highlands and is mostly populated by the beautifully dressed Flower.

After noon is highlighted with 2 hours walk to explore the famus Ban Pho Valley which is home to the Flower H’mong and Tay ethnic. Paying visiting to local homes and enjoy watching peoples making the well-known spirit from corn as well as a traditional dance with the Khen – a traditional musical instrument composed by 6 bamboo pipes.

Day 8: Bac Ha – Coc Ly – Lao Cai – Train to Hanoi (B,L)

Continuation of  the  trip  to Trung Do, a beautiful village  inhabited by Tay people with  its green rice  terraces. Upon arrival at chay River’s bank, embarkation on sampan  for a upstream cruise  to Coc Ly village where visitors enjoy the weekly multi-ethnic market held on every Tuesdays evening, an  ideal  place  to meet  local  people.  Ethnic  groups  from  every  part  of  the  region  come  here  to exchange  their agricultural and handicraft products.

Transfer  to Lao Cai, visit  to  the border gate between  Vietnam  and  China.

In  the  evening  return  Hanoi  by  train.  Overnight  on  train  in  soft sleeper wagon.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Drive Hanoi – Ha Giang

8:00: You will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi and transferred to Ha Giang via Tuyen Quang province.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Nam Mu hydroelectric where you will begin the the 4-day trekking tour.

Late afternoon. We will arrive in a Dao village where we will spend the night.

Day 3:  Nam Mu – Quang Ngan – Len hamlet

After breakfast, we say good bye to the villages and continue our road trip to Viet Lam.

Day 4: Len hamlet – Ban Dang – Chat Tien – Ban Me

Itinerary:

Day 1: Bac ha – Lung Phinh – Ta Chai – Pa Chu Ty II (L,D)

You will be picked up by Lotussia Travel team at Lao Cai Train station and then transferred to Bacha. Your trek start from Lung Phinh market to Ta Chai village, home of Fula minority.

Arrive later afternoon at the H’mong ethnic minority village of Pa Chu Ty II, our destination for overnight. The villages are unused to the presence of foreigners. So we are encouraged to tread gently. The accommodation here is basic.

Day 2: Pa Chu Ty II – Then Van – Lung Cai (B,L,D)

After  breakfast  at  local  home  stay,  the  trek  today  leads  through  beautiful  sightseing  on  narrow
footpath  to  the H’mong  village  of Then  Van. Discover  the  daily  life  of  the  local  people.

Continue trekking to Lung Cai – a delightful village located at the moutain side of H’mong area.

Day 3: Lung Cai – Hoang Nhi Pho – Ban Gia (B,L,D)

Once leaving Lung Cai, following the trekking route to Hoang Nhi Pho through rice paddy and maize
plantations .

Day 4: Ban Gia – Nan Ma (B,L,D)

Breakfast  at  local home  stay. A  great  days  trek,  undulating  sometimes  steeply  up  and  down  and
through natural  landscapes  to arrive  finally at  the  isolated H’mong village of Nan Ma. The villagers
are friendly and curious and the countryside and village very impressionable. Spend one more night
in the H’mong village of Nan Ma.

Day 5: Lan Ma – Lan Lung – Coc pu II (B,L,D)

The trekking is easier today and is punctuated by the exciting crossing of Nung ethnic minority area.
Reaching relative civilization of terraces of paddy fields, house tools as brick, smith  and more.

Have a break at Nan Lung village where the group will have lunch in a local house before continuing the
last destination of Coc Pu II village.

Overnight in a comfortable house in Coc Pu, a village inhabited by the Nung minority.

Day 6: Coc Pu II – Sin Man – Hoang Su Phi (B,L,D)

After breakfast, there are three kilometers of warking to Coc Pai town in Xin Man district of Ha Giang
province. Your  car will be waiting  to  drive  you  to  Sin Man,  one  of  the  pourest  district which has
border with Lao Cai province and China.

Lunch will be in a local restaurant.

Dinner and overnight in local guest house in Hoang Su Phi.

Day 7: Hoang Su Phi – Tung San (B,L,D)

Breakfast  at  hotel. Transfer  by  car  to  the  start  point  of  your  treeking  today. You will  trek 15  km
through the beautiful scenery and local villages. Lunch will be served at a nice spot. Continue to the
Black  Dao  ethnic  of  Tung  San  for  dinner  and  overnight.  Mr  Tan  Van  Sai  will  have  pleisure  to

Day 1: Arrive Laocai early this morning. Travel to Bac Ha (B,L,D).

Arrive at Lao Cai Railway station early this morning. You will be greeted by Lotussia Travel local team and transferred to a local restaurant for early breakfast.

After a short rest, travel to Bac Ha. Visit Bac Ha market, the biggest market in the area. Every Sunday, different ethnic groups come to the market  to sell their homemade products or buy something for the family. They are Hmong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities can’t be met in any other areas.

Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant in town.

In the afternoon, enjoy a short easy walk to a H’mong village near Bac Ha town.

Dinner and overnight in Bac Ha.

Day 2: Bac Ha – Ta Cu Ty village (B,L,D).

Breakfast will be served in the village. Leaving the village at about 8:0, we will be transferred to the starting point of trekking trail in Lung Phin with several photo stops along the way.

Upon our arrival in Ta Chai Village of the Phu La ethnic, we start trekking along a narrow valley through Quan Hoa Hamlet. The first portion of the hike last for about three hours.

Lunch will be provided on the spot.

After lunch, we continue trekking for about two hours until we arrive the Lu Suoi Tung village of the Flower H’mong. We will have a short walk visiting this isolated village. Stop by a local school and several H’mong family for a discovery of the local life.

We will be picked up again by our vehicle at Lu Suoi Tung village and transferred to home stay near the center of Ta Cu Ty Commune. This portion of the road offers spectacular landscapes of the Ban Gia Valley and clients will enjoy many viewing stops before arriving to home stay.

Day 3: Ta Cu Ty – Song Ngam – Nam Dan – Nam Chien (B,L,D)

Breakfast will be provided in the village. We leave the village at 08.30am continueing our trekking adventure.

We will trek for the whole morning on a large path. The three-hour trek will offer great views of the Ban Gia valley. A stop will be made en route for a visit of a Nung village.

We will arrive Song Lam around noon. Lunch will be provided near a village-school.

After lunch, we continue trekking for two hours and a half. This part is challenging. We trek through the thick bamboo and rain forest. After about two hours, we will arrive Nam Dan Commune is famous with the rock fields bearing cared massage from ancient peoples.

Then we will have one more hour easy walk before we arrive Nam Chien village of the Nung.

Check into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Nam Dan – Nam Choong village (B,L,D).

Transfer along a paved road to the southern side of the mountain. Enjoy 3 hours easy trekking through Tay and Dzao villages along the narrow valley of the Nam Ty River.

Today is the most interesting day of the whole trip. Because we will experience the superb natural scenery which changes after every quarter of trekking. Therefore this is also the greatest challenge so far.

Leaving the village at about 08.30am, we will trek uphill the Chieu Lung Thi mountain range. We hike from the Nam Li valley to Cao Son village of the H’mong and Zao. We may have a short visit of this village before we continue walking through the thick forest to Trung Son village of the Nung peoples and then onto Tan Minh village of the Zao peoples.

We check into a local house for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Tan Minh – Ho Thau – Ho Xan – Nam Son – Pan hou village (B,L)

We will have an easy trek today. The trail gets mostly downhill which offers marvelous view of the Nam Dich valley.

We will trek from Tan Minh village to the center of Ho Thau commune and then to Xin Chai village of the Zao and Nung peoples.

Picnic lunch will be provided by the Nam Dich river. If weather permit it will be possible for us to swim in the clear water of the river.

Then we cross the river taking a leisure walk to the southern bank of the river. We hike through the stunning valley of the Doan Ket village.

After about three hour trek, we will be picked up by our vehicle and transferred to Panhou eco-site (Pan Hou village in Thong Nguyen.

Check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Panhou – Hanoi (B,L).

Arrive the village around late afternoon.

Dinner and homestay in a local house.

Day 4: Nam Dan – Nam Choong village (B,L,D).

Transfer along a paved road to the southern side of the mountain. Enjoy 3 hours easy trekking through Tay and Dzao villages along the narrow valley of the Nam Ty River.

Lunch will be provided in a local house (picnic).

After lunch, continue our trek crossing the river to the southern bank, then uphill, downhill to a Dzao village, set on the bank of Nam Ty river, endowed with a mineral hot spring.

Dinner and overnight in a house on stilt.

Day 5: Nam Choong Village – Cao Son – Trung Son – Ho Thau – Panhou (B,L)

Today is the most interesting day of the whole trip because the natural scenery is wonderful and it changes every half hour.

We trek for almost the whole day. We hike uphill the Chieu Lung Thi mountain range. We trek from Nam Li Valley via the center of Quang Nguyen Commune, to Cao Son Village of the H’mong and Zao.

We continue trekking through the thick forest to Trung Son Village of the Nung peoples and then onto Tan Minh village of the Zao peoples. We hike descending for 20 minutes to the center of Ho Thau Commune where we will be picked up by our vehicle and transferred to the Panhou eco lodge.

Check in the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Panhou – Hanoi (B,L)

Full day transfer from Pan Hou lodge to Hanoi. The drive takes about 7 hours. We arrive Hanoi about late afternoon. End of Lotussia Travel services.
